Self bondage with tight corsets

Image by the brilliant Stuart F Taylor

Sometimes, when I’m on my own, I do a simple form of self bondage: I put on a corset. One of those rigid, steel-boned ones that I can do up so tight it takes my breath away. One that I can feel squashing my tits into my chest and which – when I try to sit down – digs into my hips and makes me feel trapped.

I understand the appeal of self bondage. I can see why some people want to truss themselves up with rope, or cuff themselves in odd positions, then struggle against the bonds as they rub themselves to a climax. The feeling of being so restrained is amazing. Pressure, tightness, squeezing, and the joy of release heightened when you come.

But as someone who is both clumsy and prone to panic attacks, tying myself up when I’m alone is never going to be an option. It would be pretty much impossible for me to create a bind that I could both struggle against and quick-release if the doorbell rang. Even if I could, I think I’d find it hard to concentrate on the sensation for all the voices in the back of my head saying ‘what if you get stuck like this?’ or ‘what if the flat catches fire and you have to hop out onto the street and explain to the neighbours why you’re tied up like a joint of meat?’

Dress up to wank

So here’s my alternative. With practise and determination, a steel-boned corset can be fastened on your own. Tightened to a degree that it takes your breath away. That when you push with your stomach muscles you can’t move outwards for the pressure.

Most ‘sexy’ underwear is sold with the headline message: ‘give your partner a treat’. It wants me to don silk and lace and fishnet and wait excitedly until he gets home, in anticipation of him tearing it all off.

They rarely tout the benefits of lingerie for your own pleasure. Self confidence? Sure – “buy our sexy knickers and feel good about yourself!” sounds like a positive ad message, but I’ve never seen anyone say “buy our sexy knickers and enjoy rubbing yourself wet through the silky gusset!” – I’m available for consultancy, though.

The selling point of wearing a corset on your own is purely about your own pleasure though – you can enjoy everything you love about it and to hell with what other people like. I like the feeling of running hands over myself, feeling the solid, tight shapes I’ve pushed myself into, the delight I can take in the shallow, quick breaths it makes me take.

It’s not an aesthetic thing. I don’t stand in front of the mirror and look at myself: I lie back on the bed, spread over all the space I’d usually worry about taking up. I breathe in – tightness across my chest, flesh pushing hard against the solid steel bone. I breathe out, and as I do I try to twist and push my stomach so I get the same sensation there.

Corsets as self bondage

Sometimes that sensation can be recreated with something even simpler: a rope tied too-tight around my waist, a pair of jeans I don’t fit into any more. The key is the well-placed pressure in your gut, emphasising the tingling kick that churns there when you’re horny. If you know what I mean, then maybe this is for you.

I hold myself as tightly as I can with a corset I’ve made as firm as possible. It’s decidedly not firm like the arms of a lover or like the constricting rope administered by a dominant guy, or any of those cheesy similies that imply I need another person to give me these sensations: it’s firm in the way only I can make it – tighter than he would, pushing the limits that only exist in my head.

So firm and restricting and deliciously arousing that after I’ve come I want to keep it on, enveloped in the warmth and hotness until I’m ready to go again. But I should take it off really, because my partner’s coming home and he might walk in.

I can treat him later, but this one’s for me.

That sounds rather lovely. How do you get yourself into it though? I have a satin basque and it’s bloody hard to put on by myself; I’ve buggered up the wire boning from twisting it about in fact.

I’ve often been disappointed when I wore lingerie *for* somebody and they just took it off me. I want them to fuck me with it on, fuck me through it, get it all fucked up. No idea why I didn’t just say so either, I guess I was going with the flow.

I agree – annoying when you’ve got all dressed up and someone just takes it all off: I want you to SHAG me in it, goddammit! Also the hot ‘constricting’ corset feeling is similarly amazing when I’m getting fucked.

How do I get it on? I think it’s just about preparation: I pull out the strings so that it’ll fit fairly loosely when I do up the hooks at the front, then rely on pulling hard using the long strings at the centre of the corset. TBH, because it doesn’t matter how it looks I’m less worried about getting things even, and more focused on just getting it as tight as possible in the centre.

I like corsets because they’re comfy and flattering – wish it was acceptable to wear them over clothes to work etc but people tend to see them as fetish or historical wear, which is a shame.

No hassle at all to get into one yourself once you’ve done it a few times. Loosen the laces, do the busk up, then tighten the laces towards the middle, keep on pulling it tighter from the middle. If the laces are the proper sort, they won’t just slide back through – though you can always tie them round your waist and keep tightening them up as you go. It’s fiddly but it works.

Or listen to chris, who seems to know much more than I do =) Thanks for the tips!

Agree re: daily wear, although when I wear a corset I tend to be in a state of permanent arousal. So maybe more pub-wear than work-wear for me!

I feel the same when wearing my corset. I wear it under a tight body suit to hide the pressure lines from the tightly laced corset and lock in place…..so I don’t get stared at as a man wearing a corset with a wasp enforced curvaceous figure. It’s a big turn on.

i tried on a leather corset for the first time last night (one of my fave birthday presents to date) and it was possibly one of the best confidence boosters ever. it being the first time though, it took half an hour of loosening strings and pulling and cursing before it suddenly clicked into place. agree with chris – i’d totally wear this out and around London!

I love to wear a corset, love the constriction, the tug of the suspender straps as I walk…. It’s pretty amazing to walk down the street with it on under normal street clothes, or to wear just corset, stockings and heels in a fetish club….
    Hate being restrained though!
Putting on a corset really turns me on, and I’ll happily dress up to wank. If there’s a corset going on, it’ll usually involve a but plug…
It’s fantastic being fucked in lingerie, I’ll only fuck guys when I’m dressed up. I do like it when girls dress up, or when we both dress up….

There’s a song by The Beautiful South that includes the lyric

“And they see me as a potential new recruit
They rub their hands, slap their backs and smile
But I still wear suspenders underneath my business suit
So needn’t worry about me for a while”

Your comment reminded me of that – corsets underneath normal clothes. Hotness. Pervery. Beautiful South. That’s made my day and I’m off to listen to the ‘Choke’ album and have a few wanks =)

  • Me says:

I completely agree with this. I threw out all my shit underwear and now only wear lacy lovely knickers because they make ME feel good. I wear stockings almost every day for work not for anyone but me.
Even my period pants are lacy!
My husband just whips it all off unless I ask him to leave it on!

I haven’t bought nice underwear for years. Due to lady troubles and years of no libido due to meds, all I had were cheap supermarket knickers and greying bras. My partner has never been into underwear either – he’d much rather I was naked.

Then recently I just bought a nice silky set with shorts with a totally sheer back and he loved them – so when I ordered us some supplies online, I bought some pretty smutty stuff. I bought an open cup bra (best of both worlds – fully on show but with a bit of uplift!) and a pair of crotchless lace shorts with suspenders attached. It was the first time he’s ever fucked me in underwear and stockings (and high heels) and it was bloody awesome. I’ve gone and ordered lots more crotchless underwear in fact!

“Dress up to wank” no one really talks about getting dressed up to wank. I am a person who loves to dress up to wank when I have the time.

  • Sadie says:

Anyone got any good tips about where to get a corset, preferably leather and with absolutely NO satin? Everything, even the pricey stuff, looks too historical romantic fiction novel cover for my like (no judgement but it looks all wrong with my super short hair.)

Plus the few I’ve found seem to suggest you have a pretty small/defined waist already and being fairly apple shaped, I really don’t. I want to buy myself one as a birthday present and I’m not sure where to look.

    • Girl on the net says:

Hi Sadie – I am a bit rubbish with corset recommendations, BUT I have tweeted this comment out to see if anyone can chip in. I feel like this is something i should know, but most of my corsets come from shops like this: https://www.corsets-uk.com/ (which is cheap and cheerful but doesn’t have much in the way of leather). I know there are *definitely* some great places out there though, so I’ll ask around and see if I can get any recommendations for you. x

      Sadie,

I saw Girlonthenet’s tweet – it works! From everything I’ve heard, Northbound Leather in Toronto is one of the best for custom-fit corsets.

Corsets Boulevard on eBay are pretty good and sometimes have offers on. My leather one came from them and I love it.

Have a look at http://www.luxtenebrae.com – Jules who runs it is great.
