Sexy link roundup: courage, incels and dystopian erotica

Image by the excellent Stuart F Taylor

It’s been a while since I did a round-up of sexy links, so apologies for being lax on it. But I am now raring to go and because I’ve missed a couple of weeks I’m going to pick three of my favourite sex blog posts from the last few weeks. I also have not one but TWO bonus updates right at the end of the post…

A dystopia we deserve – Scandarella

“Please. Please, God, make her stop fucking stalling. Make her stop with the build and the tease and just give me what I fucking need. My cheeks flame and I try to smother the thoughts running through my mind. Even after ten years of suffering I still want to be in control. I still think it’s my divine right to have what I want. But God isn’t going to help me. He was supplanted by the Goddess at the same time men were supplanted by women.”

This is sexy, sharp and satirical, like a dirty episode of Black Mirror. In fact I think it might be the most fun I have ever had reading a blog post. Scandarella is incredible.

Courage of your convictions – Molly’s Daily Kiss

2008

I don’t want to be married any more. We are getting a divorce.

“What about the children?”

“You like the money too much”

“What will you do when you are old and on your own?”

“Can’t you wait until the children leave home?”

“What a waste”

“What am I going to tell my friends?”

I did it anyway.

I love Molly with every atom of my heart. If you’ve never been lucky enough to meet her, this post will give you a good idea of what she is like, and why I look up to her so much.

Who deserves sex? – The Other Livvy

“How have we created a society where women who don’t have much sex see it as an internal reflection of their own worth and a sign that they don’t deserve sex, when men can see it as an external reflection of how they’ve been wronged?”

This is a really incredible reflective post. I wrote a bit about incels and entitlement a while ago, but Livvy has taken an in-depth look at an aspect that I hadn’t considered thoroughly before. I was thinking about her post for days after I read it, which to me is one of the signs of a really great opinion piece.

Eroticon 2019 tickets now on sale!

Recently tickets for next year’s Eroticon went on sale! If you’re interested in sex writing, erotica, or anything related to that you should really think about joining us for next year’s conference. You will have a blast, I promise. Grab your tickets here, or join the mailing list and consider submitting a speaker’s proposal if you have a great idea for a talk or workshop!

Voting open for ETO Awards

Every year ETO Magazine runs awards for things like the best sex toys, best sex toy brands, best erotic writers, and loads more. I got nominated for one of the awards this year (best erotic writer) but don’t vote for me – I won an award from them a few years ago, so it’s someone else’s turn. Also I am only really comfortable promoting award things if I am also able to say ‘don’t vote for me’, because I am a ridiculously awkward person.

Please do go and vote though – for your favourite products, brands and people. There are some amazing nominees on the list. Click the link above and it’ll take you to the ETO site, which you can register with for free if you’d like to vote in the awards.

  • Molly says:

Thank you my lovely friend… and the bit about you looking up to me made me laugh because all I can think of it that I would need to be standing on a chair for that to happen.

  • All kinds of ‘yes’ for this awesome roundup! I had missed both Molly and Ella’s posts, so am glad you brought them back within my cross-hairs! I’m also glad you’ve explained about voting for the ETO awards, I thought I had to be ‘something in the industry’ to participate, so I shall mosey on over now to vote!
