Listen up, fans of interesting sex challenges. This week’s guest blogger has a kickass idea for you. He’s written some fabulous guest blogs here before, including a delightful piece about where he wears his wedding ring, what a prostate orgasm feels like, and his quest for the perfect butt plug. So I’m delighted to welcome him back today to mark the start of a fun sex challenge he’s set himself for the month of November. And no, it is definitely not the one you’re thinking of…
No (K)nob November
The idea of “No Nut November” – that masturbation is a vice or a source of shame, and that one should refrain for a month – seems daft to me.
I mean, obviously if someone finds an enjoyable personal challenge in not masturbating for a month, then great! Denial, including self-denial, can be fun, so if that is your thing, brilliant.
Not masturbating because you have been told it is bad? That can sod right off.
And, since I like alliteration, challenges, and orgasms, No Something-beginning-with-N November poses an excellent opportunity.
So here’s my personal challenge: a month of orgasms, or attempts at orgasms, which require no penile stimulation (other than from partnered sex; this challenge is about me and my own masturbation).
No touching
I’ve had plenty of orgasms – including some of the best orgasms of my life so far – without touching my penis.
I am very fortunate to have a prostate and an enquiring mind, and that has made for a wonderful combination.
My goal with No (K)nob November is to explore this more.
I have never tried a prolonged period without any sort of touching-my-penis masturbation, mostly for practical reasons. I tend to want to orgasm two, perhaps three, times a day, and the quickest route to that for me is hand-to-penis.
Non-penile orgasms take me longer, so I accept that, for this challenge, I am going to cum less frequently.
Let’s see how that works out…
My plan
I have got three ideas in mind.
Easy-ish: prostate / anal orgasms
First is more time with my prostate toys.
Over the last few months, I’ve found it hard to achieve orgasm through prostate stimulation alone.
It has still been great fun, don’t get me wrong, but I’d like to get back, if I can, to those limb-shaking, toe-curling, extended orgasms that I have enjoyed before.
Plus, I have a new toy – the Lovense Edge 2 – and experimenting is fun, even if I tend to end up back with my Aneros. So far, I just haven’t found quite the right angle with the Edge 2, but, martyr that I am, I am willing to persevere.
Medium: orgasms only from nipples and other fun bits
Second is more time with my other erogenous areas.
My nipples have always been enjoyable, and I very much look forward to exploring that side of things some more.
Perhaps some different lubes? Maybe some different toys? Fun!
Hard: orgasms with no hands or toys at all
Third is continuing down the “no hands or toys” route.
For me, this is down to controlling my breathing, and squeezing rhythmically the muscles that I use when using an anal / prostate toy.
I have been enjoying this on and off for a while, and although I have come very close to an orgasm, I’ve never quite managed to tip over the edge.
If I can get there – or even get close more easily – that would be amazing. The notion of lying down, closing my eyes, and letting an orgasm come is incredibly fun.
I don’t really buy into the “hypnotise yourself to orgasm” audio, or the concept of orgasming from “binaural beats”. I’ve tried, and found them tedious, not arousing in the last. But if they’ve worked for one of your readers, I’d love to hear about it.
So let’s see. Will No (K)nob November be a success for me, enjoying different orgasms without touching my penis? Or will I end up taking matters into my own hands?
Want to join in? A note from GOTN…
I love this idea so much that I’ve asked this fabulous guest blogger to pop back and update us if he has any fun thoughts/experiences to share at the end of No (K)nob November, though naturally this kind of expectation can add pressure so it may be that he doesn’t want to and if so that is A-OK.
In the meantime, though, if you fancy joining him in exploring some no-hands wanking in November, feel free to leave your thoughts/experiences in the comments!
If you want to try out some anal orgasms, as well as the Lovense Edge 2 which is mentioned in this piece, there’s a new Lovense toy out that I think has huge potential for fun: the Glint is a smart butt plug which is touch-responsive, meaning you can tap the base to make it vibrate. Because Lovense sponsors my site they sent me one of these recently and I have… ideas.

You might also like to try one of these anal toy sets from Meo.de which gives a gradual increase in size to get you used to larger plugs, or a simple b-vibe butt plug from The Pleasure Garden, though as I was looking through their site for recommendations I couldn’t help but wonder… does a plug with attached cock ring break the rules of this challenge?
Most links in this post go to sponsor companies, so if you buy through them you’re helping support this site and I’m incredibly grateful.
